ICORE Australia Regional’s 2007 – Pine Valley PC Perth

This year’s regional’s was hosted by the Pine Valley Pistol Club and was a huge success, the stages were well presented, and challenging, and the organization was first class. The RO’s were extremely friendly and helpful and having them dedicated to each range ensured that all went well, and there were very few problems. A special thanks to Mark Rakitich and the team from Pine Valley PC for putting on a great shoot and presentation dinner/awards. Good to see ICORE and IPSC members work together to ensure an excellent shoot, a good example of how we can work together.

Great to see people travel from interstate and we also had three American mates who traveled across for the match.

The range facilities at Pine Valley PC would have to rate as one of the best in this country for our style of shooting, the ranges are very level and layout made it easy to get from range to range. The stages were quite challenging and were a good mixture of paper and steel. While the horse was not capable of winning a Melbourne cup it was challenge to ride and I feel all competitors enjoyed this stage as it was well thought out.

The food each day was great, kitchen staff was most friendly and all this was capped off with an excellent presentation dinner. A special thanks to the people who work behind the scenes to make all this happen.

Congratulations to the outright winners Paul Kennedy (Open) and Troy Regan (Limited) both shot well over the weekend although there were several people right on their heels.

The AGM was held on the Sunday night and was well attended by members and the ICORE Australia board members were re-elected with Paul Kennedy elected as the new ICORE Australian representative, this will give us two Australia ICORE members representing us within ICORE.

At the annual meeting the regional guidelines were ratified and this will be implemented at the regionals next year.

This year was the introduction of the new cast medallions which will be used for the next 5-7 years.

The Australia regional’s next year will be held at Geelong Pistol Club around September/October 2008 and I urge everyone to come and support Andrew Moss and his crew. More news will be provided on this later.

In closing well done and thanks to Grycol International and Smith & Wesson for making the four revolvers available and supporting our great sport.

A special thanks to both Ron & Rich (USA) who donated the guns they won, (these were given to the last placed shooter and to one of the juniors), and this is great sportsmanship and demonstrates the support to our sport by these two guys.

See you all at the next Regional’s 2008.

Good Shooting

Ian bond

ICORE Australia Chairman.
