Rule1.8 SAFETY.
Dropping an unloaded firearm behind the line necessitates that a Range Officer pick it up, confirm it is not loaded and in a safe manner return it to the shooters bag, holster or vehicle. Any dropped firearm found to be loaded would cause the shooter to be disqualified. If at anytime during the course of fire, or while loading, reloading or unloading, a competitor drops their firearm or causes it to fall loaded or not, will be disqualified.

         MODIFIED ICORE RULES

for Australia only

It has been discussed and voted on at the 2009 AGM held in Bendigo that Australia would not adopt the Range Commands proposed by ICORE USA. We will still retain the old commands:

Load and Make Ready. The shooter may now take a sight picture if they so desire, load their firearm and assume the start position as defined in the course of fire.

Are You Ready. The CRO asks if the shooter is prepared to proceed. If the shooter is not ready to proceeed it is their responsibility to inform the CRO that they are not ready to proceed. When the shooter does not respond negatively to this question, the CRO will assume the shooter is ready.

Stand By. This is the verbal signal to the shooter that the start signal will follow soon.

If You Are Finished Unload and Show Clear. If the shooter has finished the course of fire they will then remove all ammunition from the revolver cylinder and hold the firearm in a position that allows the CRO to confirm the firearm is unloaded.

Close Cylinder and Holster. Is the command given by the CRO after confirming the revolver is unloaded. The shooter will follow the command.

Range is Clear. This command is given by the CRO indicates the range is safe. No one should move forward on the range to perform range duties until this command is given.

All members please memorize the Rule Changes

The rule changes are listed in RED

Scoring is done on a “Total Time” basis. The accumulated time of all runs, plus target hits, plus penalties equal “Total Time”.

On the D-1 targets:-

“A” zone, add nil seconds, "B" zone, add one second. "C" zone, add 2 seconds. Miss, add 5 seconds. Hitting no shoots (full bullet hole), add 5 seconds. Premature start, add 5 seconds. Foot faults, add 5 seconds. Failure to engage, add 5 seconds per target.

Procedural, add 5 seconds. (See note below)

Extra shot, add 5 seconds (shots limited).

Extra hit, add 5 seconds (shots limited).

Overtime shot, add 10 seconds (fixed time).

Failure to hit stop plate, add 30 seconds.

Failure to engage on steel plates (with papers only),

add 5 seconds per plate.

All Steel stage will be scored Hit or Miss.

(Fundamentally, a procedural is a penalty for not following the as-briefed procedure. While the rulebook may be silent on the strict interpretation, it is usual and customary that a single procedural is awarded for failing to follow the instructions. If an advantage is gained, such as shooting freestyle instead of strong hand, the the penalty is assessed for each shot fired. Simply shooting targets out of order should be a single procedural.)

We want to encourage people to remain in the sport. We want to interest others in joining the game.
